    Senior Civil Engineer / Project Mgr. at Consulting Engineering. I’ve know Gene for many years. He was there when Burgh Man began. He is a sports enthusiast, an educator, an organizer and an all around great guy. Gene has been involved in numerous organizations that make Pittsburgh a greater place. Gene is not only a Super Hero, I am proud to call him my friend !!!

  • Dan Handley, Ph.D.

    Dan Handley, PhD is a scientist, writer, and filmmaker, with a B.A in biophysics from Johns Hopkins, M.S. in logic and computation from Carnegie Mellon, and Ph.D. in human genetics from University of Pittsburgh. He currently serves as Scientific Director for Vx Ventures, LLC.

  • Jonathan Growall

    Jonathan Growall has been a Pittsburgh real estate investor and cheerleader since before it was cool. He started way back in 2002 investing in our city neighborhoods.  In his spare time Jonathan is a South Side resident who helps to promote all that is wonderful about Pittsburgh’s underdog neighborhood. Jonathan is a true Pittsburgh Super Hero ~~ Burgh Man

  • Loran Skinkis

    Loran helped bring Burgh Man to life back in 2001.  He created and continues to create all Burgh Man Comic Books, T-Shirts, Candy Bars, Super Water and various other graphics. Loran is an amazing graphic artist.  He is also a loyal and trusted friend !!!

  • Steve Tolin

    Tolin FX is owned and operated by Steve Tolin. Some of Tolin’s most notable film credits include work on Batman: The Dark Knight Rises, Jack Reacher, Warrior, and Adventureland. Tolin recently produced a feature film It Came from Yesterday, for which he and his team created the creature effects and Production Design. Steve’s genius created The Burgh Man website, mask and other props. Check him out at TolinFX.com

  • Samuel Pierpont Langley

    In 1867, he became the director of the Allegheny Observatory. Among his many accomplishments Samuel Pierpont Langley pioneered solar energy research and astrophysics, performed the first true scientific studies of the principles of flight, and flew the first documented mechanized flying machine.

  • John Brashear

    Brashear was born in Brownsville, PA., a town 35 miles south of Pittsburgh. With the help of wealthy philanthropists such as William Thaw, Andrew Carnegie and George Westinghouse, John and Phoebe Brashear labored many years and endured devastating setbacks, to ultimately create the world-famous scientific instruments that revolutionized our understanding of the universe.

  • Mary Elizabeth Warga

    Mary E. Warga, 1904-1991 [Physicist], Was the founder of the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh. Her research involved ultraviolet, visible and infrared optical emission spectroscopy; optical absorption; and upper atmosphere spectroscopy. Professor Warga paved the way for future female scientists.

    Jolly Holly is a Balloon Artist/Twisting/Clown. After graduating college I began working with children with special needs. My best friend and I decided to learn some simple balloon animals to add some fun for the kids. Then I just didn’t stop! Currently I am obtaining my PhD in special education.     Andrew Stefan McCutchen (born October 10, 1986), nicknamed “Cutch”, is an American baseball center fielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Andrew is not only a class act, but he has style. Andrew is what legends are made of on and off the field. He is the 2013 NL MVP.

  • Roberto Clemente

    Roberto Clemente was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1954 and rose to become the greatest baseball player of his time.  In his 18-year career, he received every possible award given in Major League Baseball. Visit ClementeMuseum.com

  • Punxsy Phil

    Punxsutawney Phil Sowerby is a groundhog resident of Punxsutawney, PA. On February 2 (Groundhog Day), the town celebrates the beloved groundhog with a festive atmosphere of music and food.  According to the tradition, if Phil sees his shadow and returns to his hole, he has predicted six more weeks of winter-like weather. If Phil does not see his shadow, he has predicted an “early spring.”

  • Gus Greenlee

    Gus Greenlee, famed owner of the Pittsburgh Crawfords, came from a family that valued education. His three brothers earned medical or law degrees. He was also a businessman and sportsman who founded the Crawford Grill Jazz clubs in Pittsburgh. What an amazing man !!!

  • Rocky

    He’s no dummy! Rocky is another one of Burgh Man’s faithful sidekicks. When the going gets rough for Burgh Man, he can always turn to Rocky.  Along with Lady Burgh, Rocky manages Burgh Man’s Secret Headquarters.  They also manage “TOM” the super computer.
